PADUCAH, Ky. (DEC. 27, 2022) – We have a multi-vehicle crash reported along Interstate 24 near the 32 mile marker in Livingston County.
I-24 westbound is reported blocked with traffic being detoured off at the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Interchange to follow U.S. 62 West to return to I-24 at the Calvert City Exit 27 Interchange.
Eastbound traffic is also blocked to allow a SEMI to be removed from the median. Eastbound I-24 is being detoured off at the KY 453 Grand Rivers Exit 31 Interchange to KY 453 South, then follow U.S. 62 East to return to I-24 at Exit 40.
The crash is immediately east of the Exit 31 Interchange. It involves a flat-bed SEMI and a dual trailer SEMI. At this time the recovery team believes the dual trailer SEMI can be removed without offloading the cargo, reducing the time required to clear the roadway.
Again, all lanes of I-24 are blocked at this time just east of the KY 453 Grand Rivers Exit 31 Interchange.
Estimated duration is now 2 hours or approximately 10:30 a.m., CST.
Updates as appropriate.
