
The Marshals swept their opponents in the Lake Chem Marshall County Holiday Classic hosted on Dec. 21-22. Two games on Wednesday began with a 75-45 win over Deltona, Fla. Later that evening the Marshals beat Harrison County 46-36 and wrapped up on Wednesday with a 56-45 win over Camden Central, Tenn.
In the 10:00 am game Wednesday against Deltona, the Marshals seamlessly rotated in their bench players who all contributed to the outcome. Sophomore Kyzer Phillips led the Marshals with 16 points and another sophomore, Tommy Robertson, scored 13. They were two of 11 players in the scoring column for the Marshals.
Alex Staples kicked things off with a 3-pointer. Deltona’s Velaz-Rivera tied it with a three but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way. The Marshals finished out the first quarter up 14-7 on a three by Logan Davis.

Logan Parker added to his four first quarter points with the first two buckets of the second quarter to give the Marshals an 18-7 lead. They out-scored Deltona 15-5 from there to lead 33-12 at halftime. Seven points in the quarter from Phillips came on a 3-pointer, two technical free throws and a nice follow up behind a miss for the final basket of the half. Tommy Robertson also contributed seven points in the quarter.
Hunter Wallace scored seven of the Marshals 16 third quarter points and the lead was 49-26. Phillips led seven players in scoring in the final quarter with nine points, hitting three straight free throws following a 3-point attempt foul and he dropped in his second and third threes of the game to help fuel the 30-point win.

In the evening game on Wednesday, Wade Moore led the Marshals with 12 points in their 46-36 win over Harrison County. They led 19-17 at the end of the first quarter, then held Harrison County to zero second quarter points to lead 26-17 at halftime.
They built on a seven-point third quarter lead by three points in the fourth. Six points from Moore, five from Robertson and three at the line by Chase Binkley combined for 14 points in the fourth for the 10-point win.
The Marshals were 6-of-8 at the free throw line and hit eight threes in the game, two each by Moore, Trey Wall and Robertson and one from Alex Staples and Hunter Wallace.
JD Kendall led Harrison County with 13 points and it was just the second loss of the season for the Thorobreds.

The Marshals picked up their third win of the Holiday Classic and ninth of the season on Thursday morning when they beat Camden Central, Tenn. 56-45. Wade Moore again led the Marshals in scoring with 19 points followed up by Alex Staples with 14.
They trailed by one at 16-15 at the end of the first quarter with Camden hitting four of their five threes in the game. Down by two at 25-23 at halftime, they outscored Camden by four in the third quarter to lead by two points at 35-33. A 21-point fourth quarter while holding Camden to 12, lifted the Marshals to an 11-point win.
Moore was big in the fourth for the Marshals, scoring 13 of his 19 points including two 3-pointers.
