Lady Marshals split games in Lady Cardinal Christmas Classic

In-coming winter weather cut a three-game schedule down to two in the Lady Cardinal Christmas Classic. The Lady Marshals leave Wayne County with a split after beating Hart County 58-46 on Wednesday and losing to Pulaski County 50-45 on Thursday.

Chevelle Henson led the Lady Marshals with 19 points followed by Georgia Hall with 14 in Wednesday’s win over Hart County. After trailing by two at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Marshals tied the game up at 20-20 at the halftime break and went on to outscore Hart County by 12 in the second half to win by 12.

Henson and Hall scored over half of their points in the final quarter to combine for 18 of the 22 fourth quarter points. The Lady Marshals went 15-of-34 at the free throw line.

Georgia Hall combined for 21 points in the Lady Marshals two games of the Lady Cardinal Christmas Classic

It was an early 9:00 a.m. tipoff against Pulaski County on Thursday to give teams the opportunity to travel home before the winter storm hit. The Lady Marshals lost 50-45 to the Lady Maroons after mounting a comeback that fell short after trailing by 13 at halftime and as many as 19 in the game.

Chevelle Henson led in scoring with 16 points, all coming in the second half comeback. Laken Schroader finished with 10 points.

Out of Region 12, Pulaski County improves to 7-1, the Lady Marshals drop to 6-5. Pulaski County beat Bell County 74-61 in their first game on Wednesday.
