On June 27, 2022, Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Farley area of McCracken County in reference to the complaint of a residential burglary. During the course of the burglary investigation, deputies learned that several firearms, power tools, and two dirt bikes were taken. Detectives continued investigating the theft and conducted numerous interviews.
On December 4, 2022, Detectives received information from officers with the Prestonsburg, Kentucky Police Department that a suspect in the investigation had been located and one of the stolen firearms was recovered. Detectives reviewed the evidence and statements recovered by Prestonsburg PD.
On December 5, 2022, a Sheriff’s Detective submitted and obtained an arrest warrant for Chrystal L. Newcomb, 35 years old of Paducah, for the residential burglary. Newcomb was served with the arrest warrant at the Floyd County, Kentucky Jail where she is in custody on other charges. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted in this investigation by the Prestonsburg, Kentucky Police Department.
