Glenda Ann Gordon, age 82, of Boaz, Kentucky, passed away at 10:51 A.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home.
Glenda was born in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, August 31, 1940 to William and Ivy Willhelm. As an active member of New Life Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and a VBS leader, who served God with love and a caring heart for all. Glenda loved watching UK Basketball, dancing and playing cards, with family and friends. She loved visits with her grandchildren and always had a helping hand for those in need. She worked and retired as the deli manager for Kroger, where she made many lifetime friends.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her daughters, Kathy Adams (Robert) of Paducah, Kentucky and Ronda Dowell (Steve) of Boaz; her sons, Wesley D. Gordon of O’Fallon, Missouri and William R. Gordon (Rochell) of St. Louis, Missouri; her sisters, Hattie Tipton of Paducah and Virginia Stephen; her brother, William Willhelm; her 10 grandchildren; her 14 great grandchildren; her one great great grandchild.
Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William D. Gordon; her birth parents, William Henry Willhelm and Ivy Lee Sutherland Willhelm and raised by a loving mother, Thelma Willhelm; her sisters Dora Ricks, Rosemary Nall, Phyllis Willhelm and Juanita Willhelm; her brothers, Garland Willhelm,J.C. Willhelm, Charles Willhelm, Gerald Willhelm and Thomas Willhelm.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Doug Kineman and Rev. Tommy Glisson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the funeral home.
