Mr. Allen Douglas “Doug” Jones, age 86, of Mayfield passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
He was retired from the food service industry, a lifelong farmer with a love of the outdoors, an avid fisherman and sportsman, and an awesome Little League coach to many young men. He was a beloved husband, admired father, adored grandfather and great grandfather. Papa had ears that truly listened, arms that always hold, love that never ends and a heart made of gold.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Shipwash Jones; two sons, David A. (Cindy) Jones of Nashville, TN and Jerry (Anita) Washburn of Fairdealing, KY; one daughter, Stacie Washburn (Richard) Berry of Mayfield, KY; one brother, Jimmy T. (Barbara) Jones of Union City, TN; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Lainey) Washburn, Mallory Dublin (Wade) Andrews, Emiley Berry (Jordan) Puckett, Will Berry, Ali Berry (Boone) Lambert, Kristen Jones (Matt) Campbell and Laura Jones; and seven great grandchildren, Jaxon, Michael, Ingrid, Rollins, Toby, Simon and Annette.
He was preceded in death by one great grandchild, Hollis Moore Berry and his parents, John W. and Mary Mitchell Jones.
Graveside services for Mr. Allen Douglas “Doug” Jones will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Mayfield Memory Gardens. Rev. Brad Morris will officiate. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be Will Berry, Boone Lambert, Jordan Puckett, Wade Andrews, Toy Venable, Chad Katzman, Richard Berry and Rollins Berry.
Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY.
