
Marshall County’s boys golf team took the win on Saturday in the Franklin Simpson Wildcat Shootout held at Franklin Country Club with a team score of 287. It was the teams eighth tournament win and lowest total of the season.
Three Marshals finished in the top six led by David Jack Morris who placed first with a 3-under par 68, beating Bowling Green’s Reed Richey by one stroke. Ryan Stokes finished third with a 1-under round of 70 and Trey Wall was sixth with 73. Gunner Hoover shot 76 and Paxton Carter 81.
On August 20th the Marshals took third at Park Mammoth Golf Course in Bowling Green in the Region 1-4 Semi-State Preview tournament. With a team score of 295, Morris and Wall led with rounds of 70 to finish 10th and 11th. Stokes shot 75, Hoover 80 and Logan Davis 82. Taylor County’s Luke Coyle shot a blistering 62 to take the win and lead his team to the tournament title.
