On August 26th, 2022 at approximately 11:13 a.m. personnel with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 4900 block of Emily Drive regarding a possible shooting / shots fired.
As deputies arrived on scene, it was learned a male subject had been shot at the residence and had been taken by family members to a local hospital. Deputies responded and located a 33-year-old male victim who had suffered a single gunshot wound. The victim was later flown to an out of state hospital for treatment.
The investigation revealed a domestic / family dispute had occurred at the residence prior to the shooting.
At the scene, deputies located and arrested Anthony Copeland, 50 years old of Smyrna, Tennessee.
Copeland was lodged at McCracken County Regional Jail on one count of Assault 1st Degree.
