Lady Marshals off to 4-0 start after straight set win over Calloway County

With Tuesday’s win over Calloway County, the Lady Marshals earned their first district win of the season while improving to 4-0. The 3-set win came on scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 25-20. After a fairly easy trip to 25 in set one for the Lady Marshals, the Lady Lakers settled in and battled for the win in the following two sets turning it into a hard-fought straight set win.

Tori Shaw and Sarah Bremmerkamp led the attack at the net with eight kills for Shaw and six by Bremmerkamp. Emma English led in digs with 10 and Finella Buhay had eight. Annie Beard had 21 assists and Bremmerkamp served up three aces.

Following their 3-0 win over CCA in the season opener, the Lady Marshals picked up wins over Paducah Tilghman and Mayfield. They won 3-0 over Paducah Tilghman (25-11, 25-18, 25-19) and 3-1 over Mayfield (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-19).

They will play another big district game against neighboring Christian Fellowship at home on Thursday. CFS is off to a 2-0 start with a 3-0 win over Murray and 3-2 win over Graves County.
