Cross Country kicks season off at Central Kentucky Run for the Gold

Three girls represented Marshall County in Saturday’s first cross country meet of the season in Elizabethtown – Katelynn Ringstaff, Braelyn Spalding and Addison Lyles.

The MCHS cross country team opened the 2022 season at the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold meet in Elizabethtown on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The boys’ team was led by seniors Ethan McCarty and Sawyer Collins along with Daniel Walker, Fisher Beth, Walker Jones, Sam Martin and Kiefer Siress.

Ethan McCarty had the best time of the meet for the Marshals with 17:55.08. Head Coach Chris Kerrick said the outstanding performer of the meet was freshman Daniel Walker who finished with a time of 19:07.14. Sawyer Collins time of 19:07.56 and Walker Jones 19:28.98 rounded out the top four times for the boys.

Three girls represented the Marshall County team in Elizabethtown. Addison Lyles finished with an impressive time of 21:09. Also running for the girls – Katelynn Ringstaff and Braelyn Spalding.

“Although only three deep right now, these ladies started their season with a tremendous first race”, Kerrick said.
