Michael D. Williamson, age 79, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 6:45 A.M. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Michael was born in Normal, Illinois on Thursday, June 24, 1943 to Roy and Elizabeth Williamson. He retired after 24 years in the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. He liked spending time outdoors, fishing, and riding ATV’s. Then later in life he spent time with immediate family and grandchildren either swimming, cooking out, and the occasional poker game or spades game. Heaven gained a good man.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his daughter, Jennifer A. Sumnlers (John) of Metropolis, Illinois; his sons, James C. Williamson (Kim) of Arrowsmith, Illinois, Richard L. Williamson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Christopher Williamson (Amy) of Paducah; his brother, Bruce Williamson of Boaz, Kentucky; several grandchildren.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Lydia D. Cuenco Williamson; his parents, Roy and Elizabeth W. Schaeffer Williamson; his sister, Darlene Prather; his brother, Bill Williamson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boaz, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
