Paducah police arrested two women and recovered a stolen truck after an officer recognized the truck late Friday night on Paducah’s north side.
Officer Jackson McCormick saw a blue 2020 GMC pickup truck at the intersection of North 9th and Boyd streets and recognized it as one that had been reported stolen earlier in the evening from a home on Clay Street.
McCormick stopped the vehicle, and passenger got out. The driver climbed from the driver’s seat to the back seat of the truck. As the passenger, Fantasia N. Maxwell, was detained, the driver, later identified as Delandra J. Stubblefield, jumped back into the driver’s seat and fled.
Officer Will Hendrickson pursued the truck, which turned onto Boyd Street. The truck struck the passenger side mirror of Officer Noah Willett’s cruiser as the officer sat, stationary, in the roadway with his emergency lights activated.
Hendrickson pursued the truck to North 22nd Street, where Stubblefield fled on foot to the rear of a home. Hendrickson deployed his K9 partner, Joker, and Stubblefield was located after a brief track.
Officers searched the pickup truck and found a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine and a purse containing Maxwell’s identification. The purse also contained a plastic bag with suspected cocaine inside.
Stubblefield told officers she fled because she knew there were warrants for her arrest. She and Maxwell were arrested on the above-listed charges and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
