Traffic Stops Leads to DUI and Drug Arrest

On Monday, April 28, 2025, at approximately 4:15 am, an off-duty Officer with the Paducah Police Department, observed a white 2012 Grand Cherokee commit a traffic violation near the 8100 block of Old Mayfield Rd..

Deputies responded and conducted the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver, identified as Oscar Mercado, was under the influence of intoxicants. Mercado was arrested and Methamphetamine was found on his person.

Mercado was transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail where he was lodged.

-Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess.

-Operate Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Substance-1st Off.

-No Moped/Operator’s license.

-Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle.

-Careless Driving.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on-scene by the Paducah Police Department and Randy’s Body Shop & Towing.
