Doris Faye Wood Timmons, 89 of Gilbertsville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Doris was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on June 30, 1935 to the late John and Gertrude Wood. She took pride in caring for her yard, cooking, baking and sewing. Doris worked in the kitchen at the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys and Girls and Hutchens. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church since 1978.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Creason and wife, Belinda of Hardin, KY; sister, Jonda Stenzinger and husband, John of Seneca, SC; sister-in-law, Helen Hubbs Wood of Benton, KY; three grandchildren, Chandra Clonan (Rick), Candace Miller (John) and Rae Crosby (Kris); six great-grandchildren, Emma Clonan, Isaac & Olivia Miller, Chloe, Sophie & Ben Crosby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmage Eugene “Gene” Timmons; mother, Gertrude McGregor Wood Bowlin; father, John Wood; and brother, Bill K. Wood.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY with Bro. Charles LaChance officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
