Beverly “Ann” Henson, 88, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benton.
Ann was born in Marshall County, Kentucky, on February 2, 1937, to the late Charlie Lovett and Kittie Morton Lovett. She graduated from Benton High School in 1954 and later attended college. On August 17, 1962, Ann married the love of her life, Dennis Henson, and spent the next 62 years on their journey through life together, raising their son and daughter. Ann spent nearly 45 years working for West Kentucky Rural Electric. She took a short leave from the electric company after the birth of her first child, Mark, and spent a few years working for Hawkins Jewelry in Paducah and also for Howard D. Happy Office Specialist. She eventually returned to West Kentucky Rural Electric, where she continued working up until her retirement.
Faith and family were a big part of Ann’s life. When her children were younger, she made it a point to always try to be active in her children’s lives, whether she was following Mark to support him at his sporting events, or being a volunteer within the Girl Scouts of America, or the 4-H Club with both Mark and Renee. Ann had many hobbies that she enjoyed doing, such as sewing and ceramics. She was also a fantastic cook who enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for family and friends and canning all of the vegetables and fruits from her husband’s garden. Ann’s faith was evident through her commitment as a member of the Marshall County Gideons Auxiliary and her active role as a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dennis Henson; one daughter, Renee Henson of Jefferson City, Tennessee; one son, Mark Henson (Teri) of Benton, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Tasha Henson, Tara Henson, Tanner Henson, Jasmine Maroney, Hayley Little (Jonah), Skyler Maroney, Darren Bailey, Derek Bailey, and Daremey Bailey; and one great- granddaughter, RyLynn Brewer.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Delyn Bailey; and her parents, Charlie Lovett and Kittie Morton Lovett.
