Shirley Ann Kerr, 88, formerly of Mayfield, KY passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Calvert City Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clair Edwin Edris and Margaret Kohler Edris; her husband, Donald Ralph Kerr; and her infant great grand-daughter, Poppy Jayne Kerr.
She was the owner of S&D Tax Service in Mayfield where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful baker, including making wedding cakes and her famous Santa Claus cookies. Shirley loved to travel and was very adventurous, flying was a passion of hers. She had flown in just about everything, from flying a small plane to taking a helicopter to land on a glacier, to a hot air balloon, to riding in the Goodyear blimp. She was especially proud of the time she went skydiving at the age of 73.
Shirley is survived by her three sons; Jeff (Charlotte) of Burlington, NC, Greg (Caroline) Wadsworth of Ohio, and Kenny (Donna) of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren, Adam Kerr, Daniel Kerr, Emily Kerr, Colby Kerr, Taylor Kerr, Kevin Watkins; five great-grandchildren, Emma Kerr, Maddie Kerr, Piper Kerr, Grayson Watkins, Wyatt Watkins; one brother, Ronald Edris of Massillon, OH; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Joe Hansen will officiate. Private inurnment will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
