Marshall County, KY — Last week the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives released
the KY FY24 statistics report which shows Marshall County Public Library as one of the top
performing libraries in Kentucky. Most notably, the library ranks #7 in circulation of physical
books per capita and #6 in total circulation per capita across the state.
In addition to outstanding circulation statistics, the library also ranks highly in several other
categories, including wireless internet sessions, Inter-Library Loans, meetings held within the
library, and traffic per capita. These rankings highlight the library’s vital role in the daily lives of
Marshall County residents and its importance as a community hub.
“This success is truly a reflection of the combination of a strong staff and a supportive
community,” said Tammy Blackwell, Director of the Marshall County Public Library. “We are
proud to serve Marshall County and strive every day to provide access, resources, and
programs that meet the needs of our patrons.”
The Marshall County Public Library operates three branches located in Benton, Calvert City, and
Hardin. Each branch offers a wide variety of materials—including books, DVDs, and digital
resources—as well as programs and events for all age groups, from children’s Story Hour to
Senior Game Day.
