Celebrate our planet and all it provides at the Earth Day Party on Monday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Sustainability Garden at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park.

Earth Day is more than just a celebration—it’s a global reminder of our responsibility to care for the environment. As our world grows busier and more connected, it’s easy to forget how our daily habits—from what we throw away to how we use energy—can leave a lasting footprint on the planet. This event invites the community to slow down, learn, and reconnect with nature through simple, enjoyable activities that encourage sustainable living.

This free, family-friendly event offers something for everyone:

Guided garden tours – Explore beautiful native plantings and sustainable landscaping techniques.

Fairy garden play area – A whimsical spot just for kids.

Craft stations – Make fun, eco-friendly creations to take home.
Tree giveaway – Plant a living legacy! Take home your choice of a Pecan tree or Northern Red Oak sapling, while supplies last.

Live music by Cody Campbell – Enjoy live acoustic tunes throughout the day.
Master Gardener info booth – The Marshall County Master Gardeners will be available to share gardening tips, sustainability advice, and answer your green-thumb questions.

“Earth Day is a time to celebrate the natural beauty of Kentucky and encourage sustainable practices in our everyday lives,” said Kim Hagan, Program Services Supervisor at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. “We’re excited to welcome families and visitors of all ages to the park to learn, play, and take home something that will grow for years to come.”

Join us as we celebrate the planet, nurture our connection to the environment, and discover how small changes can make a big difference. Whether you’re planting your first tree or just enjoying the sunshine, Earth Day is a moment to reflect on how we can all do our part—one step, one seed, and one smile at a time.

Admission is free – just bring your love for the Earth! For more information, contact (270) 395-7138 or email info@calvertcityky.gov.
