
Marshall County track and field hosted the 29th Invitational of the South on Friday, rescheduling from Saturday due to anticipated weather conditions.
The Marshall County boys delivered a dominant performance, securing six top-five finishes, six first-place victories, and claiming the overall team title.
Deegan Croley led the way with two individual wins, throwing 169-10 in the discus and 55-07 in the shot put.
In the sprints, Sam Morgan earned second place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.08. Among a competitive field of 64 sprinters, Isaac Hodges placed fourth in 11.19, while Cade Sorrells finished fifth in 11.35.
Owen Futrell had a strong showing in the distance events, finishing fifth in the 800 meters and seventh in the 1600 meters. Levi Walker secured second place in the freshman 1600, while Daniel Walker placed sixth in the 3200 meters.

The Marshals dominated the relay events, winning four of the five races.
The 4×100 relay team of Sam Morgan, Isaac Hodges, Isaac Reynolds, and Cade Sorrells sprinted to victory in 43.38, while the same foursome secured a runner-up finish in the 4×200.
In the 4×400 relay, Sorrells, Owen Futrell, Reynolds and Avery Lovett clinched first place with a time of 3:30.80. The freshman 4×400 squad also took the top spot, as Jett Jones, Miles McGregor, Jake Fennell, and Fisher Beth crossed the finish line in 3:55.51.
The 4×800 relay team of Austin Lyles, Daniel Walker, Reynolds, and Futrell added another first-place finish, stopping the clock at 8:43.40.

A couple of meet records fell on Friday – McCracken County’s 4×200 relay set a new mark with 1:28.47 and both James Barragan of McCracken County and Kylen Ware of Paducah Tilghman broke the 400-meter record. Barragan took first in 49.48 and Ware second in 49.79.
