Easterseals of West Kentucky announces retirement of President/CEO Danny Carroll after 15 years of leadership

PADUCAH, KY – Easterseals West Kentucky announced today that Danny Carroll, President/CEO, informed the Board of Directors of his intention to retire from the organization after 15 years of service. Since joining the organization, Carroll has led Easterseals West Kentucky towards significant growth and success in its mission to enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities.

During his tenure, Carroll directed Easterseals through numerous milestones, developments, and challenges. Under his leadership, the organization has experienced significant growth in the number of clients served, improvements of previously existing services, and expansion of many new programs and services. His constant goal has been to enrich the lives of the Easterseals families and the western Kentucky community.

Guided by his willingness to serve and dedication to helping those with disabilities, Easterseals saw the opening of two notable programs. In 2013, the Lily Pad opened as a prescribed pediatric extensive care unit to serve medically fragile children. More recently, the Lori Center for Autism opened in 2023 to provide ABA therapy for children with autism. Under Carroll’s supervision of renovations and expansions, the organization has also seen significant growth in Adult Day Services over the last 15 years. These advancements, along with many others, have allowed Easterseals to assist more members of the community.

I will miss my friendships at Easterseals, watching the children grow before my eyes, and sharing my days with our adults,” Carroll said to Easterseals staff. “I have had the pleasure of working alongside some of the finest people I have ever known and watching several of them develop into outstanding employees and great leaders. As I exit, I leave a part of my heart behind. I also leave great expectations about what the future holds.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman Daniel Jones notes, “For 15 years, Danny has served Easterseals West Kentucky with dignity, grace, and humility. We thank him for his service to our organization and wish him the best. Any good leader wants to leave an organization better than they found it, and we thank Danny for leaving Easterseals West Kentucky better than he found it.”

He has been such an asset and a positive force at Easterseals. He will be missed by the board and the clients,” Julie Owsley, board member, said of Carroll. “We wish for him an enjoyable retirement.”

Another board member, Ed Wilson added, “Danny has set the bar high in his 15 years as President/CEO. His term has been characterized by integrity, compassion, leadership, and a passion for the clients.”

Carroll leaves a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals, employees, and members of the community. His retirement will be effective this summer, with a tentative date in mid-July. The Board of Directors have initiated their search for his successor.
