
On March 19, 2025 at 11:13 PM, a deputy attempted to stop a silver sedan in the area of Interstate 24 & Lone Oak Road for speeding and an equipment violation.
The vehicle failed to yield to the deputy, traveling south on Lone Oak Road until making a left turn onto Bleich Road. Shortly after turning onto Bleich Road, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a school zone sign head-on.
The driver, identified as Malcom Grant (27) of Dallas, Texas was taken into custody without incident.
During this incident, the sedan and the deputy’s vehicle never reached speeds over 40 MPH and the total length was .6 of a mile.
Grant was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail for:
Fleeing or Evading Police – 2nd Degree (Motor Vehicle)
Disregarding Traffic Control Device (Traffic Light)
Careless Driving
Criminal Mischief – 1st Degree
Possession of Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia
Rear License Not Illuminated & No Insurance
