Jen Salmon is approaching her 21st year as an Athletic Trainer and her ninth year serving Marshall County. With National Athletic Training Month celebrated each March, it’s the perfect time to recognize Trainer Jen as a crucial part of the health and well-being of Marshall County athletes.
National Athletic Training Month honors Athletic Trainers across the country for their dedication. These professionals specialize in injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, playing an essential role in keeping athletes safe and performing at their best.
This year’s theme, “Champions in Healthcare,” reflects the National Athletic Training Association’s (NATA) mission to highlight the critical role of Athletic Trainers in healthcare, advocating for their expertise and contributions.
Beyond her year-round responsibilities with Marshall County Athletics, Jen also serves as a physical therapy assistant at Atlas Physical Therapy, continuing her commitment to patient care and rehabilitation.
Trainer Jen is invaluable to athletes, coaches, and parents—working tirelessly to prevent injuries and promote recovery, ensuring that players remain in peak condition. As the first medical professional on the scene after an injury, she collaborates with physicians to provide emergency and follow-up care, guiding athletes through their recovery and determining when they are ready to return to play.
Trainer Jen’s dedication extends far beyond game time. Her days begin long before the first whistle and continue well past the final buzzer—wrapping injuries, providing treatment, and preparing for any scenario that may arise, whether for Marshall County athletes or their competitors.
