Marshall County senior Allicen Harris dominated in the season opener, striking out 11 in the Lady Marshals’ 5-1 victory over Ballard Memorial on Monday at home. Harris pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on five hits over seven innings, while also contributing at the plate with a hit and an RBI.
Cadence Cavitt led the offense, going 2-for-3, while Marin Oakley and Audrey Knisely each recorded a hit and drove in two runs.
Emma Reynolds reached on an error following a bunt to get the offense rolling in the bottom of the first, setting up the two-run inning. Freshman Addley Poole hit a single before Knisely’s two-out hit brought both runners home.

The Lady Marshals added to that lead in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs that began on a two-run single by Oakley. The runs were set up by a leadoff double by Trinlee Anderson, Macy McLeod was hit by a pitch and a single by Cavitt that loaded the bases. A ground out hit by Harris brought the fifth run across.
The Lady Bombers avoided the shutout in the top of the sixth when Aubrey Alexander hit a one-run double.
Up next, Marshall County travels to Carlisle County on Tuesday before a stretch of four consecutive games. They’ll host Murray on Thursday and McCracken County on Friday, followed by a Saturday doubleheader at Trigg County, where they’ll face Trigg County and Christian County.
