Track team competes at Eastern Indoor Invite in Louisville

Members of the Marshall County track team who met the qualification marks, competed on Saturday against top national talent in the Eastern Indoors Invite held at the Norton Sports and Learning Complex in Louisville.

One big result from the meet for the Marshals came in the 200 meter dash. Sam Morgan set a new school indoor record with a time of 22.85 and finished 19th in the race.

Top 25 results also were recorded by Deegan Croley with a third place finish in weight throw (53-1.75), Cade Sorrells placed 21st in the 400 meters (51.67), John Foley finished 23rd in the 60 meter hurdles (9:59) and Hayden Gray placed 12th in long jump (19-11.75).

The 4 x 400 meter relay team finished fifth (3:30.92) with members Isaac Hodges, Isaac Reynolds, Owen Futrell and Cade Sorrells.

Two qualifiers from the girls’ team both finished in the top 25 in their events. Addison Lyles finished 18th in the two mile run (11:34.27) and Mia McGregor placed 21st in triple jump (31-7.5).
