
On January 28, 2025 an officer responded to a walk-in complaint at the office. A man advised that he had just sold his camper for $1500 cash on Facebook Marketplace. He then went to Casey’s to purchase something and was advised that the money was fake. The officer was able to determine that $200 was real currency and $1,300 was fake. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle the purchaser was driving and the camper. Ballard County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and camper in Wickliffe and requested assistance. The investigating officer arrived and was able to match the truck to security footage from the victim’s residence and match the VIN on the camper. The purchaser was not able to explain where he got the fake currency from. He advised that he did not go to a bank or ATM and did not have any paychecks from an employer. Daniel Scott Cureton, 46, of Benton, MO was arrested on 13 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree and theft by deception – include cold checks $1,000 < $10,000. It was also discovered through an NCIC check that he had an extraditable warrant from Scott County Missouri for driving while revoked/suspended. The warrant was served. On January 29, 2025 an officer was dispatched to Arby’s in reference to a white truck towing a boat that was blocking the drive thru. Upon arrival the officer found the vehicle at the menu board still running with the window down. The officer approached the driver’s side and saw that the operator appeared to be passed out or asleep with prescription pill bottles in the center floor console. The vehicle was still in drive and the only thing keeping the vehicle in place was the unconscious male who still had his foot on the brake. The officer reached inside and turned the vehicle and put in park. As he did so, the operator of the vehicle woke up and was very confused about the situation. After further investigation, Brock William Ray, 45, of Murray was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substances 4th or > offense. On January 31, 2025 in the early morning hours, an officer was dispatched to an ATM alarm call at CFSB. Upon the officer’s arrival he did not notice anyone around or anything suspicious other than the key cover of the ATM entry door being flipped open. As he was walking around the bank to make sure everything was secure a small maroon sedan turned into the parking lot and quickly left the bank after noticing the officer. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle to identify the make, model, and occupants as this behavior seemed suspicious. The vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed, attempting to evade the officer. At the intersection of Highway 95 & US 68 West the vehicle rear-ended a vehicle sitting at the stop sign. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. As the officer was approaching the scene he observed the driver of the fleeing vehicle exit the passenger side and go into a field. As the officer exited his vehicle to follow the suspect, he could hear a female in the other vehicle crying and screaming for help. The officer stopped and rendered aid to the injured female. Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrived to assist in helping the victim and searching for the suspect(s). In the vehicle the officer observed 3 cell phones, a cordless drill, drill bits, latex gloves, a black mask, duct tape and a debit style card. Any suspects were not able to be located at this time. After receiving and reviewing security footage from CFSB, two suspects were observed at the ATM. They were able to get through two locked doors with a key but were unable to get through the last door. They were wearing latex gloves and black hoodies. Later the same morning, officers received information from a Marshall County deputy that two Hispanic males that fit the suspect descriptions at Speedway. Officers arrived and the suspects fled. Both suspects were unsuccessful in fleeing. They were detained and prior to arrest they were identified as Venezuelan Nationals by a Homeland Security Investigations agent and a detainer was placed on them at the Marshall County Detention Center. Johandris Jimenez-Barrio, 26, of an unknown Nashville, TN address was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), possession of burglary tools, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, two counts of fleeing or evading police 3rd degree, TBUT $10,000 < $1,000,000 (attempt), failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, improper registration plate, and no operators license. Yirvel Yonaiker Rios-Castro, 20, of an unknown Nashville, TN address was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, two counts of fleeing or evading police 3rd degree, TBUT $10,000 < $1,000,000 (attempt), and giving an officer false identifying information. The female operator of the other vehicle involved in the collision was treated and released from Marshall County Hospital. It was discovered that Rios-Castro and Jimenez-Barrio and the vehicle that they were operating are suspects of other ATM burglaries in Tennessee. On January 31, 2025 officers took a call from a woman reporting her vehicle being stolen by her daughter. The vehicle was a 2006 BMW from Metropolis, IL that was entered stolen through NCIC. Officers were familiar with the suspect and went to her former address on Beech Street to observe for the vehicle. Upon the officers’ arrival, the female was putting household belongings into the vehicle and had the keys in her jacket pocket. She advised that she took the vehicle from her mother. Devonda Lamoureux, 23, of Calvert City was arrested for receiving stolen property $1,000 <$10,000. A male accompanying the female was found to have a warrant. Robert Ledsinger, 42, of Ishpeming, MI was arrested on a McCracken County Warrant for failure to appear.
