Ballard County Man Arrested Following Traffic Stop

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested A Ballard County Fugitive following a trafficking stop Wednesday afternoon in the Farley area of McCracken County.

On 01/29/2025 at approximately 2:37 pm detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic infractions on Husbands Road near the intersection of Dixie Avenue. Detectives contacted the driver, who could not provide a driver’s license. The driver then gave detectives a false social security number. Detective attempted to detain the man to investigate further, but he immediately began pulling away and fighting detectives. Detectives were able to eventually subdue the man after a brief struggle and a taser deployment.

The man was identified as 35 years old, Caleb Hazelwood, of Wickliffe, KY. A warrant check revealed that Hazelwood was wanted for two outstanding warrants out of Ballard County for burglary and criminal mischief. Hazelwood was treated at the scene by Mercy Ambulance Service and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Arrested: Caleb. L. Hazelwood 35, of Wickliffe, KY

 

Charges: Careless driving, license to be in possession, operating on suspended license, failure to produce an insurance card, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and two Ballard County warrants (Burglary and Criminal mischief.)
