Christian Fellowship picks up first district win over Murray

Christian Fellowship’s Jakin Burnett (0) scored 15 points in the Eagles 70-68 win over Murray which included five 3-pointers.

Christian Fellowship’s Eagles picked up their first District Four win on Friday when they beat Murray 70-68. They followed it up with an 81-60 win over Heritage Christian on Friday to improve to 8-12.

Elijah Grigg led the Eagles in scoring in both wins. The junior scored 24 points against Murray and 33 against Heritage Christian.

Jakin Burnett was dialed in from beyond the arc in the win over Murray. Burnett hit five of the Eagles six 3-pointers and finished with 15 points. Against Heritage Christian, Burnett hit both of the Eagles 3-pointers in the game and had 10 points in the win.

Samuel Grigg was the Eagles second leading scorer in both wins. Grigg had 16 against Murray and 15 against Heritage Christian. Daxton Kite also finished in double figures in both wins, 14 in the Murray game and 12 against Heritage Christian.

CFS plays at Calloway County tonight and finish the week out Thursday at Fulton City and Saturday at home against Trigg County.
