Calvert City Police Department Arrest Report

Calvert City, KY (January 27, 2025) – On January 19, 2025 an officer was patrolling through the Days Inn parking lot and observed a vehicle known to be used by a subject with an active warrant.  After further investigation and observation, contact was made with the subject.  Brent A. Gremore, 39, of Gilbertsville was arrested on a Marshall County Warrant for failure to appear.

On January 21, 2025 an officer was dispatched to the Calvert City Apartments in reference to a verbal altercation.  Upon arrival, the officer observed one of the parties walking across the parking lot, unsteady on his feet.  Contact was made with the subject who had a difficult time explaining what happened.  The subject was determined to be under the influence and admitted to drinking.  Jimmy Schmidt, 59, of Calvert City was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
On January 22, 2025 an officer responded to the Kentucky Dam Motel in attempt to locate a subject with a warrant.  Contact was made with the subject.  Michael S. Greer, 35, of an unknown address was served a Muhlenberg County Warrant for failure to appear.
On January 17, 2025 officers responded to the Calvert City Apartments with EMS in reference to a baby barely breathing.  Upon the officer’s arrival, the parents were sitting on the couch holding the baby.  The baby was in clear distress and very bruised.  The baby was breathing, but it was getting worse as time passed.  When asked what happened the father advised that the baby fell down the stairs when he tripped and caught himself in the process, but let the baby go.  The baby fell down approximately 10-11 steps to a hard floor.  This incident happened two hours before the parents called for assistance.  EMS arrived and the baby was transported to Baptist Health in Paducah where the staff attempted to stabilize the baby.  The baby remained unstable and was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN via helicopter.  While at Vanderbilt, it was determined that the baby had only been in the parents care since late November 2024, since being released from the NICU.  It was determined that the baby had sustained multiple broken bones, head injuries, and other bruises along the way.  On January 21, 2025 both parents arrived at the police department for independent interviews.  At this time the parents Albert L. Walker, 18, and Cheyenne S. Driver, 20 were both arrested for criminal abuse 1st degree – child 12 or under, failure to report child depend neglect/abuse 1st offense, and endangering the welfare of a minor.  On January 23, 2025 Breanna Walker succumbed to her injuries.  An autopsy was performed on January 24, 2025.  On January 27, 2025 the investigating officer was able to obtain and serve arrest warrants on both parents for murder.  The investigation is ongoing.
On January 25, 2025 an officer was dispatched to 731 Crabapple Avenue in reference to a disturbance.  The caller advised that her grandson was intoxicated, yelling, and spitting and she would like him removed from the residence.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that her grandson had previously been trespassed from this location.  Damian Drew Reed, 38, of Melber was arrested for criminal trespass 1st degree.
On January 26, 2025 officers were dispatched to Fivestar for a disturbance.  An employee called and stated that there was a male subject yelling, cussing, and threatening multiple people at the store.  Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the male subject.  He was upset that he was not waited on in a timely manner.  The officer then went inside to speak with the employees while another officer stayed outside with the male.  While inside, the officer could hear the male subject getting loud outside.  He was making threats to other customers, wouldn’t listen to basic commands, and kept yelling at people nearby.  Maurice Nathaniel Turnbough, 66, of Calvert City was arrested for disorderly conduct 2nd degree and alcohol intoxication in a public place.  On the way to the detention center, Mr. Turnbough continued to be disorderly and threatened the arresting officer.  He was also charged with terroristic threatening 3rd degree.  CCPD was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
