Investigation leads to Arrest of Wanted Man on Felony Charges

Over the course of the last week, McCracken County Deputies have been investigated a male using fake currency at local businesses. During this Investigation, Willis Scott was identified as the male in question of using fictious currency.

At around 8pm a local business reported to McCracken County Dispatch that a male was in their store on Clarks River Road. The male had previously used fictitious currency to make purchases in the store.

Deputies arrived on scene and immediately detained the male in question. The male gave Deputies a different name in an attempt to elude arrest. Deputies were able to identify the male as Willis Scott. Scott had multiple arrest warrants for various narcotic and related criminal charges. Scott was in the possession of fictitious currency at the time of his arrest.

Sergeant Lamb deployed his K-9 Partner Vegas on Scott’s vehicle. K-9 Vegas indicated on the vehicle and as a result of a search suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were located along with items of drug paraphernalia.

Scott was Charged with:

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (Methamphetamine) 3rd Offense

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (Cocaine) 2nd Offense

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Giving False Identifying Information

Warrant for Bond Violation

Warrant for Failure to Appear for Jury Trial

Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment

More Criminal Charges against Scott are expected.
