
The Marshals won the BCBS Holiday Classic championship on Sunday after three great wins over two days. Two games on Saturday at South Warren kicked off with a 71-66 win over South Oldham, then later in the day they beat Owensboro Catholic 48-45 to advance to the championship. They won the classic title on Sunday with a 70-62 win over South Warren.
The Marshals remain undefeated at 10-0, equaling their best start since the 2011-2012 season. Up next for the Marshals is the Marshall County FNB Holiday Classic. They will play Tipton-Rosemark Academy from Millington, Tenn. on Saturday at 1:00.

Saturday, Dec. 21 vs. South Oldham
A season high 31 points by Matthew Langhi led the Marshals to victory over South Oldham. Langhi had three of the Marshals five three-pointers and went 10-of-14 at the free throw line. Kyzer Phillips had 16 points along with two three-pointers. The Marshals were 24-of-35 as a team from the free throw line. Julian Miles led South Oldham with 16 points

Saturday, Dec. 21 vs. Owensboro Catholic
Alex Staples and Tommy Robertson both scored 11 points to lead the Marshals in a hard-fought win over Owensboro Catholic. A three-point halftime lead grew to eight points at 39-31 at the end of the third quarter. The Marshals were outscored by the Aces by five in the fourth quarter but held on to earn the three-point win.
Marshall County hit five threes in the win led by Matthew Langhi with two and one each from Kaden Mohler, Kyzer Phillips and Tommy Robertson. They were 7-of-8 at the free throw line. Owensboro Catholic was led by Luke Beickman with 25 points. Beickman was the only player going to the line for the Aces and hit 9-of-11.

Sunday, Dec. 22 vs. South Warren
In Sunday’s championship game against host South Warren, a season high 26 points by Kyzer Phillips led the Marshals in the 70-62 win. Phillips hit six of the Marshals nine three-pointers. It was another good game at the free throw line where they went 17-of-22. Matthew Langhi was 6-of-6 and Alex Staples 6-of-8, all converted in the fourth quarter.
Griffin Rardin equaled Phillips from beyond the arc with six threes for the Spartans to lead them in scoring with 25 points.
