Calvert City, KY (October 28, 2024) – On October 21, 2024 officers were dispatched to a disturbance on Apricot Avenue.  It was reported that two kids ran into a neighbor’s yard to retrieve their dog.  While in the yard, the neighbor yelled at them and pointed a firearm at them.  Multiple subjects were on scene and a neighbor witnessed the event.  It was determined that the firearm was a pellet gun.  After further investigation, Harold W. Faughn, 74, of Calvert City was arrested for two counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree.  The Calvert City Police Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 26, 2024 an officer was dispatched to a single vehicle collision located at East 7th Avenue and Oak Park Boulevard.  Upon arrival, the vehicle was unoccupied.  The officer made contact with the subject at his residence.  It was determined that he was the operator, and he had his child in the vehicle at the time of the collision.  Dustin Goodhue, 42, of Calvert City was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense (aggravating circumstance).  He was also charged with possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and wanton endangerment 2nd degree.
On October 27, 2024 an officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on US 62.  During the stop, an odor of marijuana was detected and a vape device was visible in the glove box.  The passenger admitted to the officer that it belonged to him and that it was a THC oil vape.  Justin Wright Brunston, 22, of Kevil was cited to court for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
