
Local Pickleball players went to Newburgh, Indiana to participate in the Rivertown Pickleball Annual Fall Battle in the Burgh, October 25-27. This tourney was played at the New Rivertown Pickleball complex that just opened in August 2023. The surface is state-of-the-art CushionX from Acrytech. With 217 entries competing in a Round Robin format 3.0 to 4.0 (any age and 50+) Divisions in Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Kent Cadwell and Jason Bell went undefeated to get Gold in their 3.5 Men’s Doubles 50+. The first tournament for Winnie Smee and Melissa Dumas since moving up to 4.0 Women’s Division and they had an impressive 4th place finish.
Another team traveled to Springfield, Missouri to compete in the Fieldhouse Hallowdink tournament held at the Fieldhouse Sportscenter & Ozark Pickleball Club with 12 indoor courts. With 94 entries competing in Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles in a Round Robin Format, Chad Hunt and Leigh Toby brought home Silver in 4.0 Mixed.
