Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Bennett led a life marked by love, dedication, hard work, laughter. Born on March 11, 1954, in Metropolis, Illinois, she grew up with a love for the outdoors and a deep bond with family. As a young girl, she enjoyed days spent riding horses, a pastime that would grow into a lifelong passion. Her early years with her parents, Floyd and Barbara Fulkerson, and her brother Scott gave her a great start to a strong, hard working simple life of family.
After meeting and marrying Bobby Bennett, her partner for 47 years, Beth settled in Mayfield, Kentucky, where they built a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three children—Ashley Bennett Estes (Jonathan), Jamie Bennett Trice (Austin), and Beau Bennett (Sasha)—who would later bless her with eight grandchildren: Dean Estes, Lane Estes, Tucker Dunn, Ellie Estes, Sawyer Dunn, Josie Bennett, Jettie Bennett, and the soon-to-be-born Jules Elizabeth Bennett. Known affectionately the last 18 years as “BeBe,” Beth adored her grandchildren and became a constant presence in their lives. Whether she was cheering at their games, going for 4 wheeler rides on the family’s farm, or cooking and cleaning up after them, BeBe’s love and one of a kind personality will forever be remembered.
Beth’s career at Paducah Neurosurgical Associates spanned over 30 years, where she was known not only for her dedication but also for the kindness, empathy, and laughter she brought to her work. Beyond her professional life, Beth was a faithful member of Bethel Church of Christ, where she was loved dearly. She was also loved by her “9 Day Trail Ride” family at the Fort Massac Saddle Club. For over 50 years, she would look forward to spending a week with her “9day family” sharing the love of horses and the beauty of Southern Illinois- whether she was enjoying time out on the trails or sitting by the fire at camp.
Beth found joy under sunny skies, whether she was riding horses, watching baseball or football, laying on the beach, or boating on the lake. She was a devoted farm wife, always ready to help Bobby, and an attentive mother who placed her family’s needs above her own. Her compassion, quick wit, and enduring kindness left an impression on everyone she met. A lover of dogs and horses, Beth’s presence brought comfort, humor, and strength to her friends and family.
Beth Bennett’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and resilience. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched, but her spirit and the memories she created will remain with them forever.
