
The 2024 Boys’ State Golf Championship concluded on Wednesday at Bowling Green Country Club. The team from Madison Central (+20) won their third straight title by four strokes over Trinity (+24).
State medalist honors went to Charlie Spiller of Lexington Catholic who beat out Cam Roberts from Pikeville and Barton Ruttledge from Allen County-Scottsville in a three-hole playoff. The three finished tied at 1-under par after the two-day tournament.
Marshall County’s Ryan Stokes improved five places on the second day of the championship to finished tied for 35th at +11 (78-77).
McCracken County’s Landon Hunt finished tied for fourth at +1 (74-71) to post the best finish for a Region 1 player. Jack Farmery of McCracken County finished 15th at +5 (76-73) and Paducah Tilghman’s Peyton Toon tied for 33rd at +10 (77-77). Mayfield’s Rylan Crouch finished at +11 and tied with Stokes for 35th.
