
Christian Fellowship and Murray High met in their second of two regular season district volleyball matches on Tuesday at CFS. The Lady Eagles played Murray in their first game of the 2024 season and lost 3-2. Murray took the second match 3-1 to improve to 11-6 and 3-2 in District Four while CFS falls to 5-11 and 0-4 in the district.
The Lady Eagles trailed 4-0 in set one before a kill by Jenna Neal got them on the board. Down 8-4, CFS slowly chipped away at the Murray lead and took their first lead at 12-11. The Lady Tigers scored eight straight to stretch their lead to 20-12 before another kill by Neal ended the run.
CFS scored three straight to trim the lead to 20-15 but fueled by kills from Olivia Smee and Macy Chiles, Murray went on to take set one 25-22.
Trailing early in set two, the Lady Eagles tied it up at 4-4 behind the serving of Emily Perez. Murray pushed the lead back out to eight at 13-5 before the Lady Eagles would battle back to cut it to four at 20-16 on a block by Neal.

On serves by Kyndal Owen that included an ace, the Lady Eagles pulled to within one at 23-22 before Murray finished out the set two win 25-23.
After trailing to open set three, the Lady Eagles tied it at 4-4 and again at 8-8 before taking a lead they would not relinquish. The set was highlighted by kills from Abby Miller and Owen, consistent serving from Rylee Hudson and an overall great defensive effort by the Lady Eagles.
Murray tied it up twice at 24 and 25 before the Lady Eagles finished it off 27-25 when a Lady Tigers block on Miller sailed out of bounds.
CFS trailed by one at 8-7 in the fourth set but from there it was all Murray. The Lady Tigers allowed just four more CFS points on their way to taking the set 25-11 and a 3-1 win.
The Lady Eagles were led in kills by Miller with 15, Neal with five and four from Owen. Perez led in assists with 19. In digs, Miller had 13, Perez 11, Neal nine and eight each by Owen and Maddie Smee. Neal had three blocks and Owen three aces.
The next two matches up for the Lady Eagles are two final district games against Calloway County on September 26 and October 1.
