It was a beautiful weekend for pickleball players from Western Kentucky to go to Carbondale, Illinois to participate in the Saluki Open September 6-8, 2024. With 215 entries over three days, players competed in Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles in 2.5 to 4.5 divisions. Lynne Davis and Dannette Baker went undefeated in 2.5 Women’s Doubles to win Gold. Shane Cosby went 4 and 1 in pool play to take it all in the medal round and win Gold. This was the first ever tournament for Lynne Davis, Julie Hill, Zack Thomas, Colby Loveless, Austin Loveless, Meaghan Lambert and Ross Lambert to play.
