Calvert City, KY (September 04, 2024) – On August 31, 2024 an officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle with blue glaring headlights. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the operator, who appeared to be very nervous and jittery. After further investigation, Sawyer Lee Riley, 35, of 1425 Big Bear Highway, Benton was charged with glaring headlights, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, failure to produce insurance card, no registration receipt, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree – drug unspecified. The Calvert City Police Department was assisted by a deputy from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and his K9 partner.
On September 02, 2024 an officer made contact with a subject who was known to have an active summons. Joseph Nathaniel Goforth, 23, of 1367 South Main Street, Calvert City was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons for failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance 1st offense.
