Calvert City, KY (August 19, 2024) – On August 14, 2024 officers responded to a call about a suspicious person walking on Cedar Street. A woman was located walking in the area. It was discovered that she was leaving a domestic situation. While on scene talking to her, her husband drove by. He was stopped by officers. After further investigation, Mark M. Hayes, 39, of Calvert City was arrested for assault 4th degree (minor injury).
On August 16, 2024 an officer was in the area of US 62 when he was approached by a male reporting something he had just seen at the liquor store. He advised that he saw a man that was driving a blue car throw bottles into the dumpster and then urinate by the dumpster. As the officer approached the liquor store, he saw the subject leaving in the blue car. The subject was not wearing his seat belt. A traffic stop was initiated. After further investigation, Jerry Rae Shannon, 64, of Paducah was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 4th or greater offense. He was also charged with operating on a suspended or revoked operators license and failure to wear seat belt.
