
The Marshall County boys golf team opened the season last week with a full schedule of five tournaments. After starting off on Monday with a ninth place finish in the Spartan Clash and fourth in the Marshall County Invitational on Tuesday, the Marshals followed that up with three second place finishes to wrap up the week.
Wednesday in the Storm Invitational at Madisonville Country Club, the Marshals earned second with a team score of 307. Ryan Stokes led the Marshals with a 4-over round of 75. Kyzer Phillips was one stroke back with 76, Paxton Carter and Brooks Lamb both shot 78 and Anderson Jones 85.
At the Trigg County Invitational at Boots Randolph Golf Course, the Marshals score of 299 earned a tie for second place. Ryan Stokes shot 1-over par 72 to lead the team and place second. Brooks Lamb and Paxton Carter each finished with a 3-over par 74’s, Anderson Jones shot 79 and Kyzer Phillips 80.
The Marshals shot their lowest round of the week on Saturday at the Trigg County Invitational to take second place with 297. Ryan Stokes secured another second place finish with an even par 72. Paxton Carter finished a stroke back at 1-over par 73, Anderson Jones shot 75, Brooks Lamb carded a 77 and Kyzer Phillips shot 85.
Today they are playing in the Hopkinsville/UHA Invitational at Hopkinsville Country Club and on Wednesday will play at Central City Country Club in the Muhlenberg Invitational. Thursday they will play in the Madisonville-North Hopkins tournament at Lakeshore Golf Course and tee it up on Friday in the Daviess County Invitational at Ben Hawes Golf Course.
