LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

 

 

  • On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, around 11am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a motorist assist complaint on KY 810 South. He located a 1995 Ford pickup truck. The driver was identified as Loucia S. Sepulveda (33) of Cadiz. He was charged with Driving on a DUI Suspended License-1st Offense, Expired KY Registration, No KY Registration Receipt, and Improper Equipment.

 

  • On Monday, July 22, 2024, around 9:43pm, Deputy David Carroll was conducting extra patrol at the Lee S. Jones Park off KY 93 South when he observed a 2018 Ford driving at a high rate of speed inside the park. Upon stopping the vehicle and following a roadside investigation, he charged Peyton Carney (19) of Eddyville with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.

 

  • On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, around 10:45pm, Deputy David Carroll and Deputy Josh Travis responded to a disturbance complaint at a Kuttawa business on Days Inn Drive. Upon arrival, the deputies observed a male subject yell obscenities at them before fleeing on foot. The subject was quickly located and placed under arrest. He was charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place-1st or 2nd He was identified as Jonathon M. Fulkerson (34) of Big Clifty, and he was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, around 7:15am, Sheriff Brent White was dispatched to a single vehicle collision on KY 818 North near the intersection of KY 293. Upon arrival, he located a 2018 Chrysler 300 which had left the roadway and collided with a concrete culvert headwall. Through investigation it was determined the driver failed to negotiate a curve and after colliding with a ditch and culvert headwall, had fled the scene prior to Sheriff White’s arrival. The driver was located on Sparrow Court near Old Eddyville and detained. She was identified as Leslie A. Stovall (49) of Eddyville. She was found to be under the influence and was arrested. She was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure of Owner to Maintained Required Insurance-2nd Offense, and DUI-2nd Stovall was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Friday, July 26, 2024, around 10am, members of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, joined by members of KYTC, Office of Highway Safety, Kentucky State Police, Lyon County Road Department, PRG group, and others assembled at the Lyon Convention Center to kickoff the Rural High-5 Traffic Safety Initiative. The project is a result of Kentucky having a higher fatality rate than the national average, and rural Kentucky roadways having fatal crashes at a higher-than- average rate. Lyon County was one of five counties in Kentucky selected for this project which will utilize education, engineering, and enforcement to reduce crashes and save lives over the next 12 months.   • On Saturday, July 27, 2024, around 4:12am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams was dispatched to a vehicle collision with possible injuries on KY 810 South near Lawwill Road. Upon arrival, the driver, of the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, had fled the scene. The driver was located around 12:30pm and identified as Juntagus Edwards (42) of Kuttawa. He was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Alcohol was suspected to be a contributing factor in the collision.
