Lady Marshals open first week of the season with three tournaments

Marshall County’s girls’ golf team opened the season with a win in the Marshall County Invitational last Tuesday. Two more tournaments in the first week of play came on Thursday in the Lady Rocket Invitational where they finished third and took fourth on Friday in the Kentucky Cup.

At Weissinger Hills Golf Course in Shelbyville, the Lady Marshals placed third in the Lady Rocket Invitational with a team score of 320. Katie Roberts finished second and led the team with a 1-over par 73. Skylar Waller placed sixth with a round of 76, CeCelia Ray shot 81, Brooklyn Cunningham 90 and Kelli Roberts 94.

The Lady Marshals shot a team score of 333 to finish fourth in the Kentucky Cup at the University Club of Kentucky Wildcat Course in Lexington. Katie Roberts placed sixth with a 5-over par 76. Skylar Waller carded an 81, CeCelia Ray and Kelli Roberts both shot 88 and Brooklyn Cunningham 97.

Three tournaments this week begin today at the Henderson Lady Colonel Invitational at Henderson Country Club. Tuesday they play in the Hopkinsville Invitational at Hopkinsville Country Club and on Thursday they will be at Willow Oaks Golf and Country Club in the Lady Scotties Invitational
