Calvert City Police Dept. Arrest Report

Calvert City, KY (July 29, 2024) – On July 25, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department responded to Alaska Street on a call to assist EMS with a medical emergency.  On scene, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.  Gage Eugene Burton, 29, of Calvert City, was cited to court for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On July 25, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department responded to McDonald’s in reference to an attempted vehicle theft in the parking lot.  The caller observed a male subject in his vehicle and confronted him.  The subject left a key in the ignition of the vehicle and began walking towards I-24.  The caller was able to give a description of the male and he was located.  After further investigation, Shane G. Harper, 39, of Murray, was arrested for theft by unlawful taking or disp auto $1,000 < $10,000 (attempt).  He was also charged with public intoxication – controlled substances (excludes alcohol).  CCPD was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 26, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department was contacted by City Hall for the Calvert City Water & Sewer Department in reference to a person tampering with a locked meter.  The subject admitted to cutting the lock off and paid the tampering fee.  An officer went to the location and recovered the cut lock.  Steven T. Henson, 34, of Calvert City, was cited to court for criminal mischief 3rd degree.
On July 28, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department responded to East 6th Avenue in reference to a domestic in progress.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the male subject in a back bedroom who was belligerent and uncooperative at first, but them seemed to calm down.  The female reported that the male was intoxicated and aggressive, and she wanted the male to leave the residence.  When the male subject was leaving the bedroom, he hit the officer with his left shoulder and it appeared that he was trying to grab the officer’s duty belt.  Maurice N. Turnbough, 66, of Calvert City, was immediately detained and arrested for menacing.  During his transport to the Marshall County Jail, he yelled, cursed, and made open threats to the officer.  CCPD was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
