Marshals finish fourth in Marshall County Invitational

Ryan Stokes, on the 18th tee box, shot 3-over-par 75 to lead the Marshals in Tuesday’s Marshall County Invitational at Calvert City Golf and Country Club.

The team from McCracken County took the win at Tuesday’s Marshall County Invitational with a score of 303, nine strokes better than second place Owensboro with 312. Paducah Tilghman rounded out the top three teams with 316 and Marshall County finished fourth one stroke back with a score of 317.

The Marshals were led by Ryan Stokes with a 3-over-par 75 followed by Brooks Lamb with 79, Anderson Jones 80, Kyzer Phillips 83 and Paxton Carter 84.

Owensboro’s Nolan Warren won medalist honors with an even par 72, McCracken County’s Jack Farmery shot 73 to finish second and Peyton Toon of Paducah Tilghman finished third with 73.

The Marshals opened their season on Monday at the Spartan Clash at Park Mammoth Golf Course in Park City. They finished tied for ninth with a score of 311 (+31). St. Xavier won with a score of 275 (-5). Ryan Stokes led with a 4-over-par round of 74, Brooks Lamb 78, Paxton Carter 79, Kyzer Phillips 80 and Anderson Jones 84,

The Marshals play today at Madisonville Country Club in the Storm Invitational.
