Westlake Corporation awards scholarships to 13 Western Kentucky students

Calvert City, Ky. (July 17, 2024)— Westlake Corporation, a global manufacturer of essential products used in housing, construction, packaging, and healthcare, is proud to announce it has awarded scholarships to 13 students of its Calvert City employees, furthering its mission of helping the next generation of community leaders pursue higher education.

“We’re thrilled to invest in the academic studies of these dedicated and deserving students of our employees,” said David Huyck, senior director of operations with Westlake Corporation Calvert City. “These students were selected among a competitive pool of applicants, and each have demonstrated strong academic excellence and a passion for bettering the western Kentucky community. We look forward to seeing all the success they will achieve over the next four years and beyond.”

Westlake awarded the following students with 4-year renewable scholarships:

  • Laken Brooks – Marshall County High School
  • Francesca Hodge – Paducah Tilghman High School
  • Peyton Arnett – Community Christian Academy
  • Hope Pratt – Marshall County High School
  • Eva Coursey – McCracken County High School
  • Emma Whirley – Marshall County High School
  • Caleb Darnell – Calloway County High School
  • Brayden Smallmon – McCracken County High School
  • Haylee O’Daniel – Lyon County High School
  • Karson Haley – Calloway County High School
  • Audrey Hunt – McCracken County High School
  • Lindsey Cope – Mayfield High School
  • Ethan Carson – Calloway County High School

Westlake Corporation has recognized and rewarded high-achieving high school seniors for over 28 years. This year, a total of 121 students nationwide received scholarships from the Westlake Scholarship Program.

Each student’s application was evaluated based on grade point average, ACT/SAT scores, strength of curriculum and extracurricular activities. Students must be dependents of regular, full-time employees who have at least one year of service with the company.
