Work to take about two days to complete

PADUCAH, Ky. (July 15, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime work zone lane restriction along Interstate 24 eastbound near the 18 mile marker starting Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

This eastbound work zone lane restriction from mile point 18.8 to near the 20 mile marker is to allow bush cutting along the median in the divided section immediately east of the U.S. 68 Paducah-Reidland Exit 16 interchange.

All eastbound traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone.  Eastbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 18 mile marker.  This work zone is expected to be active from about 7:30 a.m., CDT, to about 3 p.m., each day.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.  Some minor delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Brush cutting work in this area is expected to take about two days to complete, weather permitting.

The crew plans additional brush cutting work along the westbound lanes near this same area in the next few weeks as weather permits.
