Marshall County native wins Marathon Mountain Bike National title

Carson Beckett crosses the finish line to take the Men’s Elite title at the USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Bike National Championships in Auburn, Ala.

Marshall County High School alum and former member of the Marshall County Mountain Bike Team, professional rider Carson Beckett of Brevard, NC, took gold in the USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Bike Elite Men’s race. The 2024 USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Bike National Championships were held on June 15 at Chewacia State Park in Auburn, Ala.

Beckett, who is a pro rider for Dirt Camp Racing, took the title in 3:24.58, two minutes in front of second place Bradyn Lange of Fairfax, Ca. Beckett’s Dirt Camp Racing teammate, Jerry Dufour of Boulder, Co. rounded out the podium in third place.

Beckett will compete in the USA Cycling Cross Country National Championships in Macungie, Penn. July 20-21 before heading to Switzerland for the Swiss Epic five-day stage race August 20-24.

Carson Beckett (Dirt Camp Racing) claimed the stars and stripes jersey with his USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Bike Nationals win. Second place went to Brayden Lange (Scott/Orange Seal) and rounding out the podium in third was Jerry Dufour (Dirt Camp Racing).
