Local skeet shooters do well at US Open

The US Open Skeet Tournament was held last weekend at 16 locations with 653 shooters participating from across the country and Puerto Rico using the “I Shoot” format.

Gavin Stevenson of Benton and a member of the Calvert City Gun Club had a total of 389/400 in the HOA event. His 99/100 in the 28g event placed AA10 and his 98/100 in the 410 event placed AA8.

Ken Ford of Sharpe (also a member of the Calvert City Gun Club) had a 394/400 in the HOA event placing 3rd in the senior division. His 98/100 in the 410 event placed AAA7 and 3rd in the senior division.

Les Lala of Louisville had a 395/400 in the HOA event and placed AAA5. He won the 20g event with 100/100 after winning the 28 person shoot off. Les also placed AAA2 in the 410 event with 99/100 and placed 3rd overall in the doubles event with 99/100.
