Motorcycle accident injures Mayfield man

On June 8, 2024, at approximately 5:08 PM, the Graves County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to area of 1531 KY 534 for a motorcycle collision with injuries. This location is just south of Symsonia near the Marshall County line.

The investigation determined that Charles Blake Smith, 22 of Mayfield, was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson northbound on KY 534. Smith lost control of the motorcycle in a curve which caused the motorcycle to slide onto its side, cross the center lane, exit the roadway and collide with a tree. Smith was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Smith was transported to Symsonia Elementary School by Marshall County EMS where, due to the severity of his injuries, he was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Deputy Chad Hall investigated the collision. He was assisted by Deputy John Cavin, the Kentucky State Police, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Symsonia Fire Department.
