
Charlotte Lewis Wilkerson, 95, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Life Care Center of La Center.
Charlotte was born in Fayette County, West Virginia, on February 18, 1929, to the late Lee Andrew and Edith Barley Lewis. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wickliffe. Charlotte worked throughout her life with dedication to her family. Once retired, Charlotte continued to touch many lives as a care giver in which she demonstrated her compassion and unconditional love for helping others by giving freely of her time and limited resources. In addition, she volunteered for many years at “His House” in La Center. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her amazing chicken and dumplings, chocolate pies, and Christmas candy that she gave to family and friends. In her younger years, Charlotte loved to spend her free time quilting and sewing and adored the flowers she kept in her yard.
Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Brenda) Wilkerson of Wickliffe and Stan (Ramie) Wilkerson of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and one daughter, Wendy (Clinton) Williams; one sister, Joanna (Judy) Cook, of Covington, Virginia; ten grandchildren, Christina Shoulders, Olivia Wilkerson, Andy (Amber) Bates, Michael Bates, Cole Wilkerson, Gavin Brown, Rylan Bolin, Chase Bolin, Stephen (Jen) Broida and Christina (Michael) Parker; 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Randolph Wilkerson, Jr.; three daughters, Candace Bates, Brenda Wells, and Susan Wilkerson; one son, Michael Wilkerson; two grandchildren, Glenn Northington and Todd Bates; five sisters, Martha Wilkerson, Francis Elliot, Carol Pearson, Gertrude Vail, and Janet Rider; and five brothers, Bill Lewis, Robert Lewis, Charles Lewis, Hayden Lewis, and John Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Bro. Billie Prince officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Wickliffe.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the funeral home.
