Mr. Mikeal Lee Burkeen, 68 of Murray, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.
Mikeal was born to the late Rufe Burkeen, Jr. and Mary Wallace Burkeen on December 2, 1955 in Murray, KY. He worked for himself as a concrete finisher and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors and was a member of the Calloway County class of 1974 and of Palestine United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susan Burkeen; a son, Shaun Burkeen and a sister, Diane Norwood.
Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include two daughters, Heather Brown (Brian) of Lebanon, TN, Sara Kirks (Timothy) of Murray; a brother, Larry Burkeen of Murray; a sister, Laura Mitchuson of Benton and six grandchildren, Brendan Brown, Ethan Brown, Lucas Brown, Mikeal Jay Burkeen, Isaac Kirks, Kodi Burkeen.
His family welcomes visitors from 4 pm until 6 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Imes Funeral Home, 311 North 4th Street, Murray.
Mr. Burkeen will be laid to rest next to his wife at Palestine Cemetery.
